    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, May 18th 2011 – With much fanfare and excitement, Digicel welcomed the West Indies and Pakistan teams to the island of St. Kitts. At around 3:25PM, Tuesday 17th May, 2011, a REDjet flight touched down at the R. L. B International Airport. Members of Team Digicel St. Kitts and Nevis were on hand to welcome the cricketers and coaches, along with other professionals who will ensure the success of the Digicel Series 2011 in St. Kitts.

     


    As proud sponsors of the Digicel Series, Digicel St. Kitts and Nevis’ Marketing Manager, Marsha Lindo, was happy to present both teams with packages from the telecommunications company. Included were sim cards, all with complimentary credit, which will be used during their stay in St. Kitts. Additionally, Digicel-branded merchandise was accepted by both teams and they expressed their gratitude toward the company.

     


    While welcoming the West Indies and Pakistan Teams, Marketing Manager, Marsha Lindo, assured them that the people of St. Kitts and Nevis are ready to witness exhilarating cricket.  “We are anticipating five days of great cricket and encourage everyone to come out to Warner Park, as both teams are ready to bat and bowl off against each other,” said Lindo. She also extended a warm welcome on behalf of Digicel Country Manager, Sean Latty.

     


    The Digicel Series in St. Kitts will run from May 20th – 24th, 2011, and matches will begin at 10am daily. On the first day of play, an athlete from the St. Kitts-Nevis Special Olympics Team will signal the official start of the series at 9:45 with the coin toss. This year, children under the age of 16 years are FREE and adults may purchase tickets for as low as EC$5 at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium Ticket Office.

     


    Persons born before June 24 1950 will receive two tickets to any match FREE.
