BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – DESPITE heavy rainfall on Friday (May 20), it was surprising to see the Frigate Bay Strip packed with people.

The Family and Friends Bar in which the Small Axe Band provided musical entertainment had a large following; many of whom referred to themselves as the “rum team”.

Ziggy’s Bar also saw a large gathering with DJ Gallis, who played a variety of music genres - from old to new.

There were also many people at the Lava Ground Bar being entertained by Mixklusive Sound.

In downtown Basseterre, patrons crowded the inside and outside of Potential Bar drinking and having a festive time to DJ Yardy.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Music Festival Local Promotions Committee held round two of their DJ Clash at De Green Valley Pub which saw the mixing styles of Black Panther Sound, Black Stone Sound, Chalice Sound, DJ Fresh, Vigilante Sound and Freedom Sound.

However, the night’s event saw the elimination of Black Panther Sound.

Twist at Port Zante was also in full swing on Saturday with the Xpress Events ‘Revolution’ party.

This event was well-attended and had a dress code of ‘revolution style’ to which some people followed quite nicely.

One woman was seen rocking navy green shorts with a matching ‘Baby T’ and a camouflage west coat fully complemented with military accessories, including boots, belt and a water bottle.

When SKNVibes arrived at the cozy atmosphere of The Basement, there were not many people in attendance, but it was later said that the pace had picked up significantly.

Further down on the western side of the island was C-Money’s Birthday Bash at the Lantern in Sandy Point.

The Birthday Bash had seen a night of a number of performances and an awards ceremony where glass plaques were presented to Crucial Bankie and to two other individuals who collected on behalf of Masud Sadiki and Ghetto Shanty who were absent from the event.

Patrons were also treated to a presentation by some of the Identity models and the event had a relatively fair turnout.

Yesterday, the Frigate Bay Strip saw a surprisingly large crowd, which was not normal for Sunday nights. Ziggy’s Bar was packed with patrons and DJ Yardy kept them on their feet all night long with pulsating music.
