The lively protesters used the opportunity, in the Prime Minister’s home parish, to call on him and the NDC government to pay attention to the concerns of the Grenadian people and in particular the poor and vulnerable in our society. The protesters led by Dr. Mitchell and the executive of the NNP called on the NDC Administration to deal with the issues of high gas prices, poor health care, high unemployment and many other issues related to the high cost of living in Grenada. This was the third protest march in a series of protest marches announced during the NNP’s Convention in March, by Political Leader Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell.  The other two marches on the issues of unemployment and healthcare took place in the towns of Grenville and St. George respectively.

The rally saw speeches from former Minister of Health and Parliamentary Representative for the constituency of St. Mark. The Honourable Dr. Clarice Modest Curwen, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs Honourable Elvin Nimrod, former Minister of Finance, Senator Anthony Boatswain as well as Former Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell.
