Nevis Island Administration

    Charlestown Nevis (September 28, 2006) -- The Nevis Island Assembly sits Monday, October 2nd at the Nevis Island Assembly Chambers, Hamilton House, at 10 am. The Throne Speech would be delivered by the Deputy Governor General, His Hon Mr Eustace John, CMG.

     

    This is the first sitting of the Assembly following the elections of July 10, 2006.  The Nevis Reformation Party after being on the opposite benches for 14 years would take the proposition benches.

     

    ~~Adz:Right~~His Honour, in delivering the Throne Speech would seek to put the policies and programs of the new Administration into perspective for the next five years.

     

    According to the Order Paper circulated by Mr. Dwight Morton, Clerk of the Nevis Island Assembly, the formal Opening Session of Parliament and a Sitting of the Nevis Island Assembly would be convened.

     
    Following the reading of the Proclamation, the President of the Assembly would be elected.  Subsequently, the President would then administer the Oath to the elected and nominated Members of the Assembly.

    A Guard of Honour is expected to be drawn up outside the Assembly Chambers.
