    St. Paul's Community Centre
    BASSETERRE
    , ST. KITTS (APRIL 7TH 2004) – Residents of St. Paul’s officially take possession of their million dollar community center on Thursday.
    The Parliamentary Representative, Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas will deliver the Feature Address and declare the EC$1.2 million St. Paul’s Community Centre officially open during a ceremony on Thursday afternoon. Dr. Douglas will be introduced by Ms. Nuricer Maynard & Co.
     
    Dr. Douglas, who is celebrating his 15th anniversary as Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher Six, is expected to highlight the significant developments which have taken place in St. Paul’s – his birth place and that of his cousin and First National Hero, the Right Excellent Sir Robert L. Bradshaw.
     
    Minister of Social Development, Community and Gender Affairs, the Hon. Rupert Herbert, will deliver remarks; his Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Linda Adams will give the Welcome Remarks and the Vote of Thanks will be said by Principal of the St. Paul’s Primary School, Ms. Adina Connor.
     
    The ceremony will be chaired by Mr. Terry Morris; the National Anthem will be sung by Master Yannick Mills, the Invocation said by Rev. Mrs. Janet Paul, sister of Prime Minister Douglas; a Poem by Mrs. Millicent Connor; a dramatic presentation by Ms. Cashmine Thompson and a solo by Ms. Ava Dickenson.
     
    Ms. Iris Elliott, one of St. Paul’s oldest residents, will cut the ribbon and Taerani Phillip will present a bouquet to her.
     
    The opening of the new St. Paul’s Community Centre brings is of several community centres which have been opened in recent months. The others are the New Town Community Centre, the Old Road Community Centre, the Mc Knight Community Center and the St. Johnston Village Community Centre.
     
    New community centres are to be built in Sandy Point, Cayon and Challengers. The centres in Tabernacle and Conaree are to undergo major renovation soon.
