Dr. Denzil Douglas, reading the scripture at the Tourism Week Church Service, at the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle Church | Basseterre, St. Kitts, 9th October, 2006 - Ushering in Tourism Week 2006 with great energy and passion is what the New Birth Gospel Tabernacle Church, Cayon, did yesterday.
The congregation welcomed members of the Ministry of Tourism and the wider industry with open arms, as they conducted their service around the theme: Preserving our natural and cultural treasures: Key to Sustainability.
Scripture readings were delivered by Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas and Lalaah Mathew of the St. Kitts-Nevis Hotel & Tourism Association.
At the end of the service a presentation was made to the congregation by Minister Skerritt, as a sign of appreciation for agreeing to host this year's Tourism Week service.
Bishop Cyprian Williams delivered the sermon that defined specific elements of the theme for Tourism Week and gave his views on the key to a successful hospitality industry.
According to him, success depends on our citizens being hospitable to each other, so that turn it will become natural to be that way to visitors.
~~Adz:Right~~The week continues with Tourism Work Experience, Marine Protected Areas workshop, Local Food Symposium, Market Place and more.
