~~Adz:Right~~Charlestown, Nevis (Oct. 25, 2006) Premier of Nevis and Minister of Finance the Hon. Joseph Parry made an outstanding speech at the 2nd Annual National Consultation on the Economy, held at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort on Wednesday, Oct. 25th.
The Theme of this year's consultation is "Empowerment, Transformation- Securing our Future."
In a well received speech the Premier among other things, stated, "My party has said many times that we are "people focused", so one of our many goals is to empower all of our people in every way possible".
Premier Parry also emphasized that the government must look at the average Nevisian/ Kittitian as a possible investor and they too, must be assisted, the same way as a foreign investor would be, otherwise this Twin Island Nation would be dealt with another brain drain.
~~Adz:Left~~This year was the first time the Nevis Island Administration has participated in the 2006 National Consultation on the Nation's Economy.
A large delegation of Nevisians from the private sector as well as the public sector participated in the consultation, which was labeled by many a success.
