Basseterre, St. Kitts (October 30, 2006): King Starshield is now the King of Kings and Queens when he captured the 'Best of the Best' title at Carnival Village on Saturday October 28.
He came up against the best Calypsonians in the Federation specifically those that have won national titles.
He performed two powerful songs 'Good Shepard' and 'Nation Pride' against a field of twelve Calypsonians. He won a cash prize of $8,000.00 and championship trophy.
King Phonsie placed 1st runner up with 'Teach the children' and 'One People, One Nation' and received $6,000.00.
The second runner-up position went to King Socrates who sang 'De Apology' and 'Sugarland Blues' received a cash ~~Adz:Right~~prize of $4000.00.
The other participating calypsonians received $1,500.00. They included King Flamingo who sang 'Respect de Elders' and 'Fathers'.

King Binghi performed 'Life for the Poorman' and 'Imagine', while Queen Singing Jackie performed 'Ah long for dat day' and 'We movin' up'.
King Meeko performed 'De world in Confusion' and 'In time like these', while King Pungwa sang 'Pay Day' and 'Poor people will rise'.
King Astro performed 'Dey coming back again' and 'Love of country' while King Ayatollah performed 'Bruise our knees' and 'Calypso Terrorist'.
While the reigning Female Bacchanal Queen performed 'Brain Drain' and 'Weapon of Choice'.
The show which was promoted by Entourage Entertainment was of a high standard as each calypsonian of this star-studded cast singing their biggest hit songs.
Great performances also came from Queen Anastasia, King Dis N' DaT and Singing Jackie.

Queen Anastasia the daughter of King Socrates, once again showed she is the top candidate for Calypso this year by placing 4th in this competition, with most persons thinking that she should have been awarded the 1st place position.
Calypso fans in St. Kitts got a taste of what might be coming for this year's National Carnival Show when the King Dis N' Dat of Nevis announced in song that he will once again be competing in the National Show in St. Kitts. Whilst King Starshield said that he is seriously considering entering the national show as well.
SKNVibes.com will like to congratulate Queen Anastasia on her performance in the show and encourages her to continue on her quest to become the first female to capture the National Monarch title.
