    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JANUARY 4TH 2007 (CUOPM) - Government has accepted the recommendations of the Cabinet-appointed Committee responsible for reviewing the conditions of service of members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

     

    Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said that the allowance paid to members of the Police Force will be upgraded with effect from January 1, 2007.

     

    He also announced that work on the construction of the Dieppe Bay and Tabernacle Police Stations and the refurbishment of the Barracks at Camp Springfield should commence during the second quarter of 2007.

     

    Last October, the Prime Minister said a majority areas of the concerns raised by the Police Welfare Association had already found favour and support with the Cabinet-appointed Committee and would soon be presented to the Cabinet for final approval.~~Adz:Right~~

     

     

    Budget Director in the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Calvin Edwards was the Chair of the Cabinet-appointed multi-department committee.
