C able & Wireless and its sub-brand bMobile are celebrating the sweet rewards of Carnival sponsorship following the announcement of winners at the close of Carnival 2006/07. Beginning with the first ever St. Kitts & Nevis top model, Cable & Wireless was proud to congratulate Ms Joy Wilson as the eventual winner of the show. Joy, a spokesperson of
Cable & Wireless for the last several years accumulated the most points from a total of 9 contestants in a grand finale on Christmas Eve. Meanwhile, as first time sponsor of the Ronnie Rascal 'Extreme' J'ouvert troupe, Cable & Wireless was also delighted by the news that

this troupe was overall J'ouvert winner. An excited Pat Walters, Chief Executive of Cable & Wireless indicated that she had every confidence that the combination of bmobile and the Extreme troupe was a winning one.
Crowning the series of winnings was the announcement that Phun Makers won the coveted title for the Carnival Parade troupe. Over the years Cable & Wireless has had a close affiliation with this troupe which lost the title last year. "We were ecstatic by the news that we were able to recapture the title this year," remarked an overjoyed Chief Executive, Pat Walters.
"We also want to place on record our congratulations to the other persons and groups who benefited from our direct sponsorship for
the magnificent showing they made for Carnival including Small Axe the Road March Champions and our sponsored National Queen contestant, Sacher Warner," she added.

Cable & Wireless' overall sponsorship for Carnival totaled well over $150,000 in cash and services combined. For the third consecutive year, the company has specifically directed its support to Children's Carnival as its commitment towards the continuity of this festival. bMobile also associated for the second consecutive year with the Grand Masters Band as title sponsor of its Calypso Tent which provided a fitting foretaste to Carnival from November last year.
Cable & Wireless will like to use this opportunity to congratulate the Carnival Committee for the execution of yet another impressive Carnival. Commendations are also due to the security forces for their untiring efforts in ensuring that all of the carnival activities were enjoyed in an atmosphere that was free of crime. |
