    The new Nevis Island Administration website.
    CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (January 11, 2007) -- Premier and Minister responsible for the Department of Information on Nevis the Hon Joseph Parry, welcomed the launch of a new website www.gisnevis.com designed to provide greater access to Nevisians in the Diaspora, of the continued development as it unfolds on the island.
    The new user friendly website which was launched on Thursday, January 11, 2007, replaced the previous website www.queencitynevis.com used by the Department of Information.

    I invite all Nevisians to the Department of Informations website for Nevis to view all the information that we provide for dissemination for the people on Nevis at home and abroad especially in the United States of America in the Virgin Islands, the United Kingdom and Canada.
     
     ~~adz:Left~~We are endeavouring to bring you the best presentation that we can of whats taking place in Nevis and to ensure that the information that you get is absolutely accurate, can help you to make learned decisions and may even encourage you to return home more often or to come back home to live and help us develop our  country. I do hope many of you will visit it often, happy viewing, he said.

    noted that the site was multifunctional and user friendly and two major considerations during the development stages were the sites effective layout to allow easy navigation of the vast information offered and the reflection of Nevis beauty in an effort attract to visitors to the island.
     
    According to Mr. Sargeant among the features offered by the website are: on demand video of the local segment of the Nevis News Cast aired daily on Channel 8, photo galleries of major events on Nevis and the stories in text format from the Editorial section.


    He said the Department was taking its service to a new level and also joined Mr. Parry in his invitation to the public to visit the website which he said would continue to grow.

    The site is by no means completed. Some of the features we are looking at in the future include an audio achieve and live streaming.
     
    I must say thank you to e/Caribbean [previous site developers] for their assistance in realising the true potential.
     
    I must also say thank you for the hard work to the Editorial section of the Department and the staff of Ebizz [new site developers] for a site which I now have the honour of inviting the entire world to use, he said.
