    The following persons were arrested and charged between 19th and 22nd January 2007;
     
    During the early dawn of Saturday 20th January 2007, officers of the Strike Force Unit carried out a routine stop and search of a vehicle on Cayon Street in the vicinity of the Springfield Cemetery. The vehicle PA-5644 owned and driven by Ian Viera of East Street, Newtown was also occupied by Leon Thompson of Buckley Estate, Calvin Grant alias "Big Cheese of Fort Thomas Road and Lester Louard of Upper Thibou Avenue, Basseterre. While searching the vehicle the officers found one (1) .38 revolver with six (6) rounds of ammunition, nineteen (19) pieces of a hard yellow substance suspected of being crack cocaine and fifty-three (53) small zip-lock bags containing vegetable material suspected of being cannabis. ~~adz:Left~~
     
    All four men were subsequently arrested and charged with the offences of "Possession of a Firearm", "Possession of Ammunition" two charges of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit (i) Crack Cocaine and (ii) Cannabis; and two charges of "Possession of a Controlled Drug With Intent to Supply" to wit (i) Crack Cocaine and (ii) Cannabis. They will appear before be the Magistrate Court shortly to answer to their charges.
     
    On Friday 20th January 2006, Gerard Stapleton alias "Sadam" of Ottleys Village was charged with the offences of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" and "Possession with Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis. On 19th January 2007, Stapleton was stopped and searched at Carty Alley, Newtown where he was found in possession of two plastic bags as well as twenty-five (25) small zip-lock bags containing vegetable material suspected of being cannabis.
     
    Stapleton was also charged with the offences of "Threatening Language", "Battery on a Police Officer", "Assault on a Police Officer" and "Indecent Language" committed at the Basseterre Police Station on 19th January 2007.
     
    The following persons were arrested and charged between 19th and 22nd January 2007;~~adz:Right~~

    On 20th January 2006, Alister Henderson of Conyers Village was charged with the offence of "Malicious Damage to Property" committed on 30th December 2006.
     
    On 22nd January 2007, a fifteen-year-old male of Saddlers Village was charged with the offence of "Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon" to wit a machete, committed on the aforementioned date on the Island Main Road at Camps Village.
     
    On 21st January 2007, three male juveniles, ages (15) fifteen, (13) thirteen and (12) twelve-years old all of Upper Cayon Village, were charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed between August 2006 and January 2007.
     
    On 21st January 2007, Jared Henry of Cayon Village was charged with the offence of "Battery on a Police Officer" committed on 20th January 2007 on the Bay Road.
     
     
    ~~adz:Left~~At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Friday 19th January 2007;
     
    • Dexter Huggins of Camps Village who was charged with the offence of "Larceny" committed between 6th and 7th January 2007 was convicted and sentenced to serve six (6) months imprisonment with hard labour.
     
    • Ovan Liddie of Sandy Point, who was charged with the offence of "Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" was committed to stand trial for the said offence at the May 2007 Criminal Assizes.~~adz:Right~~
    During the early dawn of Saturday 20th January 2007, a traffic accident occurred on the Frigate Bay Road in the vicinity of TDC Building Center involving motor pick-up P1782 owned by Selwyn Bart of Canada Estate. Circumstances are that motor pick-up P1782 was traveling west toward Basseterre when it collided against four (4) vehicles that were parked on the side of the Road. There were sixteen (16) occupants in the pickup including the driver and all sixteen persons received some form of injury. Four of the injured persons have been detained at the J.N.F. Hospital for treatment of their injuries while the remaining twelve were discharged.
