    {Basseterre; St Kitts}:
    At about 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, contributors, stake holders and media houses all gathered at Buckleys, to witness the unveiling of the first of 20 Village Community Signs that were contributed by Cable & Wireless at a value of EC$40,000
     
    CEO of Cable & Wireless, Patricia Walters expressed how proud she was of the initiative her company had undertaken.  She explained that twelve months ago they were in discussions with the Basseterre Beautification Community Committee and today marks the day of the first of 23 signs sponsored by Cable & Wireless  and other entities.
     
    Walters further said that they wanted the signs to have a historical feel to them as well as to highlight the importance of education.  
     
    Novelette Morton, Human Resource and Project Manager of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority gave thanks to Cable & Wireless, Public Works, and the Ministry of Tourism.   She added that she was very pleased with this initiative and appeals to the private sectors to come onboard to help with the erection of future signs.

    Lavern Caines, VP of Corporate Communications and Marketing at C&W also gave thanks to stakeholders and residents of Buckleys and asked that they do what they can to keep the signs in good condition.
     
    The corporate community is being urged to come onboard and assist with the other signs needed to complete the project
