Sylvester Kelly just after he was found not guilty of wounding.
    (Basseterre; St. Kitts):
Sylvester "Skinny" Kelly who was charged with wounding Ian "Tuna Puna" Bradshaw, was found not guilty of the incident that occurred on Dec. 14, 2004 at the Main Road in St. Paul's.

Kelly testified in court yesterday that his hand accidentally touched the complainant while he held the machete in his hand.  He said the machete cut Bradshaw in his face when he raised his hand to block Bradshaw who raised a bottle at him.

According to the 20-year-old Kelly, he said he was working Parks and Beaches for the Environment in St. Paul's.  He said that he and about ten other coworkers were at the deli in St. Paul's waiting for their supervisor to show them the area in which they were to work.

He said that he saw Bradshaw at around quarter to eleven at Miss Richards'shop and while he was standing by his other co-workers waiting to work, Bradshaw came over saying that someone had thrown water on him.~~adz:Right~~

"No one replied to Ian; he then went over to one of the environment workers name 'Sky Juice' and told him "if you don't tell me who wet me up a gon buss somebody face'," Kelly said.

Kelly testified that "Sky Juice" ran off and Bradshaw came over to me and told him if he didn't tell him who wet him he will "buss" Kelly's face.

"I tell him I don't know who wet him he raise a beer bottle he had in his hand and hit me on my shoulder then I raised my hand to block de bottle and then I saw his face bleeding because the machete was in my hand when I raised it," said Kelly.

After taking less than two hours to deliberate the jurors retuned with the verdict "not guilty" and His Lordship Francis Belle then told Kelly he was free to leave and urged him to "stay out of trouble".

Kelly left the court room filled with smiles as his mom could be heard from the back of the room saying, "Thank you".
