At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Monday 29th January 2007, a traffic accident occurred along the Frigate Bay Road involving motor vehicle PA-5775 driven by Dennis Knight of Bird Rock and a 78 year-old pedestrian, Stanley Greaux alias "Ta" of Ponds Extension. The pedestrian was transported to the J.N.F. GeneralHospital where he later died. An autopsy to determine the precise cause of death will be conducted at a later date. This is the second road fatality for 2007.
The following persons were convicted at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 29th January 2007;~~adz:Right~~
·Sean Brazier of Basseterre, who was charged with the offence of "Unlawful Possession" committed on 16th January 2007, was convicted and sentenced to serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour.
·Vernon Simon of New Road, who was charged with the offence of "Being found on an enclosed premises for some unlawful purpose" namely to steal, was convicted and sentenced to serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour. Meanwhile the sixteen-year-old male juvenile of Shadwell Estate who was charged with Simon for the same offence was also convicted and ordered to receive five (5) strokes.
