Basseterre, St Kitts, February 8th 2007. With thirty-two days to go to the start of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, Cable & Wireless is unveiling its programme of activities as an official sponsor of the event.
The launch activity which takes place at the Ocean Terrace Inn on Thursday 8th February, will not only highlight the company's cricket-related promotional offers, but will also provide an insight into the telecoms infrastructure development at the cricket stadium. Vice President of Customer Services, Mr. Robert Williams will provide a summary of the company's infrastructure rollout during the launch event.
Acting Chief Executive, Mr. David Lake in his welcome remarks will give a background to the company's overall involvement in the development of cricket over the last several years. "We are proud to be a part of the greatest sporting event ever to be held in the region and it is a signal honour to share the joy with our cricket-loving customers. We are cognizant of the role that cricket has played in defining us as a Caribbean people, and Cable & Wireless is pleased to share in this moment of history with all of its stakeholders," commented Mr. Lake.
Members of the media will also have the opportunity to question Cable & Wireless executives.
The two-hour affair will be held against a backdrop of steel pan music interspersed with a raffle for cricket memorabilia items and tickets to the matches in St. Kitts and Nevis.
