KITTS, FEBRUARY 15TH 2007- St. Kitts and Nevis was among several Caribbean countries which signed one of several protocols or agreements at the just concluded Eighteenth Inter-Sessional Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas signed the Protocol to the Treaty on Security Assistance on the Establishment of the CARICOM Operations, Planning and Coordinating Staff (COPACS) on Wednesday.
The Prime Ministers of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago also signed.
The President of Suriname, His Excellency Ronald Venetiaan and the Secretary-General of CARICOM, His Excellency Dr. Edward Carrington signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Suriname and the Caribbean Community Establishing the Seat and the Offices of the Competition Commission of the Caribbean Community in Suriname.
The Protocol on the Privileges and Immunities of the Competition Commission was signed by the Governments of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St. Lucia, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago on 12th February 2007 and by the Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines on 14th February 2007. ~~adz:Right~~ |
