    Mr. Robert Judd, Head of Corporate Banking and Country Manager, handed over the cheque of EC$ 10, 000 to Mr. Ernest Amory, Chairman of the Fort Street Beautification Project, during a brief ceremony at the bank's headquarters on Friday last, March 23rd
    (Basseterre; St. Kitts):
    The Fort Street Beautification Project received tremendous support over the last week, as several corporate citizens donated cash amounts for the success of the initiative. The First Caribbean International Bank was one such entity that advocated the beautifying of the area with their donation.
     
    Mr. Robert Judd, Head of Corporate Banking and Country Manager, handed over the cheque of EC$ 10, 000 to Mr. Ernest Amory, Chairman of the Fort Street Beautification Project, during a brief ceremony at the banks headquarters on Friday last, March 23rd.
     
    Judd indicated that he was particularly pleased with the tremendous impact that the redoing of the sidewalks and the placing of potted plants on Fort Street had on the aesthetics of the popular street.
     
    "It is extremely beautiful&..when I saw the difference the renovations made, I was simply all for the street remaining as is," said Judd, who lobbied for the street to remain a pedestrian area.
     
    Judd said his bank was extremely delighted to donate to the whole project.
     
    In accepting the monetary donation, Mr. Amory indicated that he was pleased with the cash injection from First Caribbean International and noted that it will be used to defray costs.
     
    Amory said that many persons have been impressed with the new look Fort Street and said he was also aware of a campaign by locals and visiting nationals to have the street remained bedecked with palms.
     
    He noted that any other businesses or persons who wish to make a contribution can do so through account number 1008853 at the Royal Bank of Canada.
