(Charlestown, Nevis) -- The Nevis Four Seasons Resort Spa has been ranked #1 by Conde Nast Traveler magazine out of a total of 429 top class spas worldwide.

The prestigious publication which advises tourists on top-class destinations held a spa poll in which 56 spas were listed from a total of 429 top class spas worldwide.
From this margin a readership of 5000 further chose a top 26 from which Nevis emerged with the top position.  According to General Manager, Martin Sinclair the resort scored 'gold' emerging with a total of 94.7% proficiency in the tested areas.
"The spa at the Four Seasons Resort Nevis won an overall score of 94.7% which is quite admirable when you consider that spas from North America, the Caribbean, Mexico and spas at Sea were scrutinized meaning even the ships these days cruising have Spas."
"So this is a very vast area and obviously they are rating Four Seasons Nevis against spas in Hawaii, Arizona and the West Coast.  The second place went to a resort spa in Big Sur, in California and the third place went to a resort spa in Sedona, Arizona.  There was certainly a lot of competition amongst that vast area from Hawaii all the way to the Caribbean and that is why this is particularly exciting and great recognition for Four Seasons Nevis," he said.
Spas were screened in the areas of location setting, treatment, staff and service, rooms, diet cuisine, program facilities and activity. Earlier this year the Nevis Four Seasons Resort also ranked in Travel and Leisure magazine Top 500 World's Best Hotels and it continues to boast a five diamond rating.
Ironically, Sinclair who will be closing his tenure at the Four Seasons Resort on Friday explained to Sknvibes.com that he has experienced a tremendous five years at the resort.

"I have actually been here for five years in total but three years as general manager.  It has been a wonderful experience and we have had a tremendous three years at the resort.  Each one of the accolades that the resort has achieved are very special and we hope that it will continue to achieve these types of awards on a regular basis as they are very important for the resort's continued success.  I thank the team for their continued efforts and this is indeed a great reward for these efforts," he said.
Moreover he said that he is leaving Nevis at the end of the week, and moving to Singapore along with his family, where he will take up the post of general manger in Singapore.

"We will miss Nevis dearly, my family and I as we have had a wonderful time in Nevis," Sinclair said.

"I have worked in Asia before as I was at the Four Seasons Resort in Bali and part of the reason we are moving to Singapore is because it is closer to New Zealand my home country.  The funny thing is when I said I was moving to Singapore, my children asked if there are going to be any Nevisians at the school. They practically grew up here and Nevis is what they know.  We are surely going to miss Nevis."

He ended by saying that awards are only bestowed in the properties that provide the very best in service and hospitality.  But recognition goes to the team working hard in the spa and who are obviously supported by a greater team here at the resort.

"So we wouldn't get that recognition without the efforts that they make each and every day," he said.
