Police Press Release

    On Thursday 12th April 2007, officers of the Frigate Bay Police Station found Mr. Hiranmay Ashok who had been reported missing since Tuesday 10th April 2007.

     

     

     

    Mr. Ashok was in good health, when he was found in the Frigate Bay area on approximately 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. He has taken into police custody, interviewed and later released into the custody of his room mates.

     

     

     

     

    Police are investigating a traffic accident which occurred along the island main road at New Guinea, during the early morning hours of Thursday 12th April 2007.~~adz:Right~~

     

     

     

    The driver reported that while maneuvering the vehicle in an effort to avoid colliding with two cattle that had wandered into the road, the vehicle overturned and came to a stop on the sea shore.

     

     

     

    Two passengers were injured, one of whom received minor injuries to his face and shoulder while the other passenger sustained injury to his neck, while the vehicle was extensively damaged.

     

     

     

    The police are once again calling upon owners of particularly large animals such as cattle, to ensure that they secure the animals so that they do not stray into the road or onto other people's property.

     

     

     

    The police are also appealing to road users to exercise extra care and caution while driving in areas where it is known that stray animals tend to wander into the road.
