Basseterre (April 2007) - A group of Top Meeting Planners descended on the St Kitts Marriott Resort & the Royal Beach Casino for a three day familiarization trip designed to expose them to the hidden attributes of the undiscovered destination of St Kitts and entice them to return with the next group program.
The opportunity to educate this VIP group was as a result of hard work and months of planning by the Marriott, Renaissance, Caribbean & Mexico Sales Team members, and select customers, chosen to experience our property, Kittitian Culture and Caribbean Hospitality.
On their first day the soothing rhythms of the steel pan duo welcomed them to the Resort while 'National Dressed' guest service agents were on hand, offering icy towels with a hint of mint plus cold drinks made from fresh ingredients to refresh their senses dulled by their long journey.
Their discovery of 'All Tings Kittitian' brought forth nightly sponsored gifts, and a chance to eat on the site of the former home of the Great Chief Tegreman, before embarking on a trek to the island's tallest peak Mount Liamuaga. On their journey they viewed vine laden trees, and listened to monkeys and birds as they called to each other, sounding warnings to those ahead of the new explorers coming into their territory.~~adz:Right~~
The theme of "All Tings Kittitian" did not end here; their palates were indulged with local cuisine as feasts were laid out at Rawlins and Ottleys Plantations. All this, while being afforded the pleasure of our island's beauty with a full Destination Tour provided by the property's Group DMC - Sunlinc.
The group returned to the resort and indulged in therapeutic treatments compliments of The Emerald Mist Spa. They played Golf on the scenic links styled Royal St Kitts Golf Course and battled lady luck in the Royal Beach Casino.
The adventures continued with tastes of all the property's 8 restaurants in a Dine Around format culminating in a Final Night resplendent with all the glitz and glamour that is the St Kitts Carnival. Folklore came alive with Mocko Jumbies, Masquerades and local folk dancers who entranced the group with their gyrations to the beat of the steady big drum, the sound like the strong steady heartbeat that is the Heart and Soul of Kittitian Culture.
