YES we are BACK! CEO Winnielle Pereira has said she has prayed long and hard before embarking on this journey once more and let's not forget to the encouragement from all those who have been asking for a return of the agency.
And so the wait is over, WMM has been rebirthed, from the ashes and we are about to create something new, something vital, something that we can once again expose and train and act as a springboard for our young talent into an arena that is often looked at as less than it is, an art form.
Like any other field the world of fashion holds many avenues for personal and professional advancement and career opportunities whether as a high fashion model, runway model, print model, designer, photographer, spokes model makeup artist, stylist and so much more.
OUR HISTORY
Winnielle Model Management in its first instance was in existence for five years. During that period the agency single handedly raised the art form of modeling within the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis to higher heights.
WMM as it was affectionately called was and still is the brainchild of Winnielle Periera, a model/trainer with over a decade of experience within the fashion industry.
Ms Pereira after living abroad in the USA for some years returned to St. Kitts, her home in 2003 where she promptly launched her company and first ever model boot camp. She successfully launched 4 fully trained models loose on St. Kitts and Nevis and they quickly became the epitome of what models on the island should aspire to be.
Ms. Periera complemented the boot camp with an annual affair she dubbed "Show Me Your Soul". The show's purpose was multied. It served as the graduation of the models in training, provided real time exposure of the graduating and local models on the international scene, and was a way to bring the fashion industry of St. Kitts and Nevis to the attention of the fashion masses and to expose and educate the people of the Federation to the regional and international fashion industry.
With this and more in mind, Winnielle and her team has worked tirelessly to over a five year period host the annual fashion events which became the biggest fashions shows on the island.
The first show, Show Me Your Soul brought regional fashion designers to our shores including Barbados’ Sonia Noel and Kingsley Thorne, St. Martin’s Kaishah Peters, Antigua’s Calvin Southwell, Guyana’s Michelle Cole, Anguilla’s Fabiana Liburd and on an international level the now renowned designer to the stars Ximena Valero and Victor Colvin. On the local scene designers such as Brown Sugar and Sanara Bussue also graced the events.
Not only did regional and international designers participate in the shows but also regional and international models. Several of these models have gone on the make news on the international scene take Je’Taime Cerge who represented the USVI at the Miss Universe pageant and now runs and operates a makeup company and locally Naony Buchanan who has gone on to launch and successfully run a modeling agency. Other notable names are swimsuit designer Mikieda Franklin, makeup artists Davina Baptiste and Nakita Belizaire and budding designer and entrepreneur Anastasha "Avanah" Elliott.
Ms. Periera herself has been honored for her contributions to the industry on St. Kitts by LEGACY.
WMM is set to heat up the fashion scene once more, so stay tuned and continue to support and encourage us as we once again set out to raise the bar, reach for the top, jah guided on this journey into fashion!
