    Ms. Stacey Greene
    St.Kitts & Nevis native Stacey Greene ' is now the new President of the American Association for University Women (AAUW -DeVry University chapter)

    Majoring in Computer Information Systems, Stacey who is now in her fourth semester in pursuit of her bachelors' degree was voted as president of this prominent group from among 2 other candidates in April 2007.

     

    The group's main goal focuses on raising women's voices through higher education.  They are known to collaborate with other groups and charities such as with the Annual Michelle Off-sie Memorial Walk for Hope and Women's Outreach services.  Last year the group collected used cell phones, which were then donated to the Women's Outreach center in New Jersey, to help victims of domestic violence to have use of at all times in case of an emergency.  One of her first tasks as president will be to spear-head voter's registration at the end of May, in conjunction with New Jersey Association of colleges and universities.

    Stacey would therefore play a leading role in lobbying and creating coalitions at the local, state and

    national levels. Dean of Students and the group's advisor Marcia Grasso was quoted as saying, "I am confident that this group is in competent hands with Stacey, as she has proven to be a competent team player and leader. She has already been influential in a number of academic activities and events on and off campus and so should have no problems heading this group."
     
    Stacey with a 4.0 G.P.A has made the Dean's and Presidents list and is also a faculty assistant and student tutor in the academic support center at the campus. She is also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society; a student ambassador and a member in the S.T.A.R leadership student program were she plays an instrumental role in student orientations, Day at DeVry, leadership seminars and graduation ceremonies.
