Police Press Release

    Over the past week Police have received a number of reports that a man was seen exposing him-self in public places and performing indecent acts. On Monday 21st May 2007, James Olfonzo Dyer alias "De Greasy Man" a native of Montserrat was arrested and charged with the offence of "Indecent Exposure" committed on Saturday 19th May 2007 at Victoria Road, Basseterre.

     

     

     

     

     

    On Monday 21st May 2007 officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and Defence executed a search warrant in the Godwin Ghaut area. A number of persons who were in the area fled as officers approached them and subsequently the officers found a quantity of vegetable material suspected of being cannabis and .25 pistol with one round of ammunition on the outer perimeter of the premises that was searched.

     

     

     

    During the operation, Everton Forde of Godwin Ghaut was found with a back pack containing

    vegetable material suspected of being cannabis. He was subsequently charged with the offences of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" and "Possession with Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug" to wit Cannabis.

     

     

     

    To date no one has been charged in relation to the firearm or drugs found in the area.

     


    On Monday 21st May 2007, the following persons were convicted at the Basseterre Magistrate Court presided over by her Worship Mrs. Mallilieu-Webbe;

     

     

     

    ·         Trevor Francis of St. Pauls Village was convicted of the offence of "Being armed with an offensive weapon" and was fined $500.00 to be paid in one (1) month or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

    ·         Kimborough Hendrickson of Trafalgar Village was convicted of the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis committed on 10th March 2007. He was subsequently fined $1,200.00 to be paid in two (2) months or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

    ·         Anthony Stead of Carty Alley, Newtown was convicted of the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit Cocaine committed on 14th May 2007. He was subsequently fined $2,700.00 to be paid in two (2) months or in default to serve two (2) months imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

    ·         A sixteen-year-old male from the Basseterre area was convicted of the offences of "Being Found in an enclosed Premise for some unlawful purpose" and "Escaping Lawful Custody". He was subsequently ordered to receive four (4) strokes for each offence.

     

     

     

    The police is seeking the assistance of the public in finding a sixteen-year-old female who was reported missing on Monday 21st May 2007. Akilah Christian alias 'Kilah' of Carty Alley, Newtown was last seen at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, when she told relatives that she was going to Conaree.

     

     

     

    Akilah is approximately 5'- 8" in height, has a stocky build and when last seen she was wearing a short black jean skirt, a light pink blouse and pink slappers.

     

     

     

    Any person who may know of the whereabouts of Akilah Christian is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 200 / 230 / 236 or her relatives.
