    On 22nd May 2007, the following persons were charged with offences;

     

     

     

    ·         A (12) twelve-year-old male of the Basseterre area was charged with the offence of "Burglary" committed on 23rd April 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Guyton Davis of Sandy Point was charged with the offences of "Driving without a license", "Driving without Insurance" and "Taking a vehicle without the owner's consent" committed on 22nd May 2007.

     

     

     

     

     

    On Monday 21st May 2007 at the High Court, Glenville Maynard and Rawle Benjamin of Tabernacle Village who were indicted on a charge of "Wounding with Intent" were convicted of the lesser charge of "Unlawful Wounding" committed 21st July 2006. Maynard who was a juvenile at the time of the offence was put on probation for three (3) years; he is to perform community service at Project Strong for a year; he is to maintain a 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew; and he was placed under a recognizance in the sum of $10,000.00 with one surety a breach of which will result in his having to serve eighteen (18) months in prison.

     

     

     

    Benjamin was fined $6,000.00 to be paid in nine (9) months or in default to serve (18) eighteen months imprisonment.

     

     

     

    On Tuesday 22nd May 2007 at the High Court, Shaweed Williams of Fry's Village was convicted of three (3) indictments for "House Breaking and Larceny" committed on 19th June 2006 at Shadwell. He was subsequently sentenced to serve seven (7) years imprisonment with hard labour.

     

     

     

     

     

    On Tuesday 22nd May 2007 officers of the SSU and Narcotics Unit discovered an illicit still at Douglas Estate. The still was destroyed however no one has been made answerable for the find to date.

     

     

     

     

     

    On Tuesday 22nd May 2007, at the Sandy Point Magistrate Court, Reginald Thomas alias "Calypso Reggie" of Tabernacle was convicted of the following charges; "Indecent, Insulting and Threatening Language", "Assault", and "Disorderly Conduct" committed on 1st May 2007. He was remanded to Her Majesty Prison to await sentencing.
