Omax Bye, Vance Thomas charged with Buckley’s Estate shooting

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AFTER four days of investigations, police have arrested and charged 25-year-old Omax Bye and Vance Thomas (19), both of Fort Thomas Road, with the shooting of 27-year-old David ‘Dibaloo’ Thomas.

     

    A police press release indicates that at approximately 5:55 a.m. on Saturday (June 4), officers of the Criminal Investigation Department formally arrested and charged Bye and Thomas for unlawfully and maliciously wounding Thomas on Wednesday, June 1, 2011.

     

    Reports reaching this publication on June 1, indicated that at about 7:30 p.m., Thomas of Buckley’s Estate was shot once to the body.

     

    The incident took place on the railway in Buckley’s Estate within proximity of the Caribbean Cinemas.

     

    The bullet had entered Thomas’ left leg and exited on his right.

     

    Thomas was treated for his injury and warded at the JNF General Hospital but was recently discharged.
     
    SKNVibes had learnt that the morning after Thomas was shot, police had apprehended one suspect who was assisting them with their investigations into the matter at the Basseterre Police Station.
