BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TANYE SAKODA JEFFERS of S Model Management (SMM) will be competing this Saturday, June 11 at the Miss Venus Swimsuit Pageant at the Landsome Bowl Cultural Centre in Anguilla.
This will be the first time the model has entered a competition and will join eight others to vie for the crown.
The popular 5’7” beauty is a Massage Therapist by profession and first entered the modeling and fashion world when she signed up for Winnielle Model Management’s second model boot camp in 2005.
She joined SMM in 2009 and has been featured in several fashion events and modeling gigs, including promotional poster for the first ever J’Ouvert Beach Chill, Breast Cancer awareness promotion, music videos, commercials and was also selected as a LIME Girl.
Jeffers was also dubbed ‘The Body’ for her agency’s Year in Review for 2010, and won that award for her toned physique.
According to SMM’s CEO Suelika Creque, Jeffers is a good contender for the show where the contestant who wins the swimsuit segment of the competition will be the overall winner and will capture the award.
“She has an excellent body for swimsuit wear and there is no doubt in my mind that she will do well in this competition,” Creque said.
The competition will also feature other segments, however, only points gathered from the swimsuit segments will determine the winner.
Jeffers is also a member of the Learning & Empowerment through the Arts Program (LEAP).
A number of Kittitian and Nevisian models have also competed in the competition in the past including Creque, who placed first runner-up in 2004, Cari Nicholas of Nevis who won the competition in 2005, and Felicia Silcott and Nakita Belizaire who placed first and second runners-up respectively in 2007.
The pageant will also feature three more Kittitian and Nevisian models including Mika O’Brien, Teshell Sutton and Roslyn Berkeley.
The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize.
