Police Press Release

    The following persons were arrested and charged on 29th May 2007;

     

    ·         Troy Francis of Cayon Village was charged with the offence of "Malicious Damage" committed on 29th May 2007 at Cayon Village.

     

     

     

    ·         Zandra McSheen of Suncrest, Bird Rock was charged with the offences of "Driving without a license" and "Driving without Insurance" committed on 29th May 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Elsworth Boddie of Tabernacle was charged with the offence of "Possession of a Controlled Drug" to wit cannabis, committed on 29th May 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Gavin Patterson of Prospect Village was charged with the offence of "Driving without insurance" committed on 28th May 2007.

     

     

     

     

     

    The following persons were arrested and charged on 30th May 2007;

     

    ·         Anthony Ranton of New Road was charged with the following offences; "Assault", "Armed with an offensive Weapon", "Indecent and Threatening Language", committed on 28th May 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Anthony Phillip of Stone Fort Estate was charged with the offence of "Battery" committed on 30th May 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Lenroy Mills of New Road was charged with the offence of "Wounding" committed on 30th April 2007.~~Adz:Right~~

     

     

     

    At the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Tuesday 30th May 2007, sentence was passed on Reginald "Calypso Reggie" Thomas of Tabernacle who was convicted by the said court on 25th May 2007. The court reprimanded and discharged him on the charges of "Assault", "Indecent and Threatening Language", and "Disorderly Conduct". He was also placed on a bond in the sum of $3,000.00 to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for two (2) years. If taken before the court during this period and found guilty, the sum will be forfeited and he will be imprisoned for one (1) month.

     

     

     

     

    At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday 25th May 2007 police responded to an anonymous call, that a body had been found inside of a building under construction in the village area. Officers visited a building under construction at Mitchelle Street, Basseterre where the found the body of a young male with a wound to his body.

     

     

     

    Investigations have revealed the body to be that of (16) sixteen-year-old Jumal Mike alias "Zunkie" of Saddlers Village. Investigations are continuing and a mortem will be performed at a later date to determine the exact cause of death.

     

     

     

     

    Police are investigating an incident that occurred on Monday 28th May 2007 on the South East Peninsula where a Sandy Point resident was injured by a large group of males from the St. Pauls area. A six (6) year old male of the Taylor's Village area was also wounded during the altercation and both victims are presently being treated for their injuries at the J.N.F. Hospital.

     

     

     

    Investigations or ongoing and any person(s) with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Frigate Bay Police Station at 465-6899 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 200 / 230 / 236 and they can do so anonymously.~~Adz:Right~~

     

     

     

    On Wednesday 30th May 2007 at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, Jamal Benjamin of Cayon Village was convicted of "Driving without due care and attention" and was subsequently fined $200.00 to be paid forthwith.

     

     

     

     

    Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the St. Peters area just after 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday 30th May 2007. The incident left a twenty-four (24) year-old female of Douglas Commercial Development area with an injury to her leg.

     

     

     

    Any person(s) with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Stapleton Police Station at 465-2418 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 220 / 230 / 236 and can do so anonymously.

     

     

     

     

    On Thursday police responded to a report of a suspected lunatic throwing missile to the endangerment of the public. An officer attempted to restrain the man who immediately attacked the officer causing him to receive injuries to his eye, neck and hand. The officer in defense of him-self discharged a round from his service pistol which struck the offender in his leg. Both the officer and the offender were treated for their injuries at the J.N.F. General Hospital where the offender is detained.

     

     

     

    At approximately 2:10 p.m. on Thursday 31st May police responded to a 911 call that a man had been shot in the College Street area. The responding officers met a twenty-four (24) year-old male of Upper College Street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to the J.N.F Hospital by the EMS for treatment and investigations are continuing.
