St. Kitts Entertainment Weekend Round-up

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – UNLIKE last week, this weekend will be packed with action from Friday through Monday, especially with Monday being a holiday (Whit). It is envisaged that more time would be available for partying and imbibing, but it is advisable that partygoers be moderate in their alcohol consumption.

     

    Friday June 10, 2011  

     

    G-Spot in Sandy Point - ‘Feel Good Fridaze’ featuring DJs Six A Clack, Shaggy and Freedom Sounds who will be rocking you from as early as 6:00 p.m.

     

    Maynard’s Park in Cayon – The staging of the Miss Green Mist Pageant, where five contestants will compete for the 2011 title from 8:00 p.m.

     

    Twist at Port Zante – Live Music by the KC-5 Band from 8:00 p.m., which will be followed by ‘juggling’ at midnight by Tombstone International. The patrons are normally a blend of young and old.

     

    The Basement on Cayon Street - Live music by the Lightz Out Band and EK from 3:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - A mixture of music by Chalice Sounds from 9:00 p.m. The atmosphere is usually a blend of young and older folks. The venue will also see the climax of the Music Festival Local Promotions Committee Bar Hopping.  

     

    Potential Bar on Cayon Street – An after work lime with a blend of music by DJ Yardy from 5:00 p.m. as well as Karaoke.

     

    Family and Friends Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip –Live musical selections by DJ Cas from 9:00 p.m. down to the wee hours of the morning. This bar normally sees a mixed crowd.

    Main Street Cayon – The village will be blocked off from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the highly-anticipated Green Valley Festival Food Fair, where attendees will be offered some of the tastiest local cuisine.

     

    Reggae Beach at South East Peninsula – Reggae Beach Party will be opened to the public from 12 noon with drink and food specials, treasure hunt, volleyball tournament and music by CJ De DJ.  

     

    Maynard’s Park in Cayon – The Green Valley Senior Calypso Monarch Competition will kick off at 8:00 p.m.

     

    Sugars Night Club in Frigate Bay – This venue will be the host of Link A Link’s  ‘Expelled Chaptah 2’ which will be rocked by the Nu Vybes Band, Bad Influence Sound, Chalice Sound, Freedom Sound and Vigilante Sound, as well as guest appearance by the Chronical Family. 

     

    The Lantern in Sandy Point – This event, dubbed ‘Freaky Gyal Dance’, will feature DJ Shaggy, Evolution HD and DJ Woodis.

     

    Club Ma Pau at Port Zante – It will be a ‘Detention’ affair in the heart of Basseterre by a group called Young Money. Music will be provided by TNO Sound, Sweet Sister Sensia, Xtortion Sound and Unstoppable Sound. There will also be performances by Young Money, Upstirs Family and Infamus.

    Twist at Port Zante – This venue will see the Tombstone International providing musical selections from 8:00 p.m.

    At Sea - Green Valley Festival takes the celebration to the Caribbean Sea with the Color-Me- Green Catamaran Cruise, leaving Port Zante at 1:00 p.m.                   

     

    Ziggy’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - A variety of music by DJ Yardy and happy hour from 5:00 p.m. with a more mature setting. 

     

    Dock’s Bar on the Frigate Bay Strip - Live music by the Fourplay Band from 8:00 p.m. This is a regular feature at Dock's Bar on Sundays and it usually attracts many middle-aged couples and a few younger ones.

     

    Maynard’s Park in Cayon – Green Valley Festival’s Reggae and Soca Band-O-Rama Explosion will take place from 8:00 p.m. featuring Soca Sensation Pumpa along with side acts including Nicha B, Infamus, Chronical Family, Upstairs Family, Dymanyzed. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJ Yardy, Sweet Sister Sensia, Chalice Sound, Freedom Sound and the Nu Vybes Band.

     

    The Basement on Cayon Street – Party Pajama-style to the sounds of The Kore and DJ Wet Dutt. However, only patrons 25 years and older would be allowed inside.
