    ~~Adz:Left~~ Police are investigating a shooting incident which took place at approximately 8:30 p.m. on 1st June 2007 on Cayon Street. The incident left a 21 twenty-one year old male of Freeman's Village, Basseterre with a gunshot wound to his leg.

     

     

     

    Investigations are ongoing and any person(s) with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 200 / 230 / 236 and they can do so anonymously.

     

    On Friday 1st June 2007, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Stephen Jones performed an autopsy on the body of the late Jumal Mike formally of Sadders Village. Dr. Jones in his finding concluded that death was cause by a gunshot wound to his head.

     

     

     

    Investigations or ongoing and any person(s) with information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 200 / 230 / 236 and they can do so anonymously.

     

     

     

    On Thursday 31st May 2007 officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Drug Unit, uprooted four hundred and eighty (480) cannabis plants in two separate locations. The plants which ranged from seedlings to 2½" in height and carried an estimated street value of $35,000.00 E.C. No one was made answerable or is subject to any charges in relation to the find.

     

    The following persons were charged with offences on 31st May 2007;

     

    ·         Anna Morris of McKnight was charged with the offences of "Carrying abroad and offensive weapon" to wit a knife and "Battery on a Police Officer", committed on 31st May 2007.

     

     

     

    ·         Alister "Gil" Henderson of Conyers was charged with the offences of "Throwing Missiles" and "Battery on a Police Officer"  committed on 30th May 2007.

    The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is once again urging road users to drive with the utmost  care and attention. Over the past week a number of serious accidents have occurred resulting in injuries to operators and occupants of motor vehicles. 

     

    On 27th May 2007 motor jeep PA-3251 was driven into a water tank in Keys Village area resulting in the hospitalization of the driver who sustained injuries to his face and neck.

     

    On 28th May 2007 a thirty-two (32) year old male while traveling through Ottley's from Cayon on a motor cycle, collided into a wall, was thrown a few yards away and sustained a fractured hip.

     

    On 31st May 2007, motor cars PA-3495 and P-9918 collided head on at Challengers in the vicinity of the Methodist Church. The driver of P-9918 received injuries to his face and complained of pains in his chest and legs while the passenger of PA-3495 complained of pains in her neck.

     

     

     

    Road uses are reminded that they have a duty of care to the other road users and should exercise due care and attention while driving.
