Trafalgar about to score their second goal

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN their last match of the Final Four Competition, Conaree FC lost 3-1 to Trafalgar Southstars FC last night (June 9) at the Newtown Playfield.

With both teams out of the finals, Conaree and Trafalgar Southstars were battling for third spot. However, Conaree were again defeated, leaving them winless after three matches.

Trafalgar struck first with a goal by Elvis Williams in the 29th minute of play, and that was the only one scored in the first half.

However, on their return to the field, Conaree managed to score what one spectator called “a consolation goal” in the 52nd minute.

The second half produced little action, and another football enthusiast claimed that the players lacked enthusiasm because they were already out of the finals and “third place is no place in a four-team competition”.

Suddenly, however, left midfielder Austin Williams received a ball from the centre, and with a burst of energy got past the right back and gave Trafalgar their second goal in the 84th minute.

Two minutes later, Delroy Jeffers extended the lead in the 86th minute.

At the sound of the referee’s whistle, Trafalgar Southstars FC left the field as Second Runners-up while Conaree FC brought up the rear with only one goal in the Final Four Competition.
