BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN this, another thrilling Final Four matchup, underdogs RAMS Village Superstars FC came from behind last night (June 9) to defeat Delphic Newtown United FC 2-1 at the Warner Park Stadium.

With pulsating sounds of the Iron Band and an equally party-mood crowd, the atmosphere was ripe for a must win matchup between the two teams.

Newtown United’s fans quickly became jubilant as midfielder Ian Lake opened the account with a 23 rd -minute strike that left the goalkeeper grounded.

Both teams had a number of scoring chances but failed to capitalise as the half came to an end.

As the second half resumed, the movements of Newtown United became similar to that of a tortoise while Village Superstars’ hare-like attacks pressured their defence, which broke down in the 55th minute after Shaquille Pringle received a beautiful cross from the left wing and headed the ball to the back of the nets.

Village Superstars kept the pressure flowing, as if it were men playing against boys.

The pressure continued and it resulted with Travis Somersal placing the most beautiful shot of the night in the bottom left corner of the goal in the 72nd minute.

RAMS Village Superstars FC will be looking towards a repeat performance in their match tomorrow night (June 11) when they clash with Coury Gatorade Conaree FC at 7:00 at the Warner Park Stadium.
