    (Charlestown; Nevis):
Deputy Premier with responsibility for Health, Gender and Social Affairs, Youth and Sports, Community Affairs, Trade, Industry, Culture, Information and Technology Hon. Hensley Daniel has urged young people to visit the Nevis Sports Museum in Charlestown to acquaint themselves with local sporting heroes.

Daniel told SKNVibes.com recently that the sports museum is intended to capture and record all the achievements of outstanding sports men and women in Nevis

"It particularly relates to cricket, football, netball, track and field.  In recent times there has also been a focus on basketball and tennis," he said.
Daniel further urged young people to visit the museum to track the performance and achievements of local outstanding athletes and in doing so he said that they can be inspired by all the persons who have established a standard and goal to emulate.

The Nevis Sports Museum was first opened in March 2005 by the Nevis Island Administration under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and a number of young people still do not know about its day-to-day operation.

The museum is located at the Cotton House in Charlestown and was established to perpetuate and honour the contributions made to Nevis by sportsmen, sportswomen and administrators of sports from all disciplines.
In March 2005 Mr. Elquemedo Willett, the first Leeward Islands cricketer to play for the West Indies was the first official inductee into the Nevis Sports Museum Hall of Fame
