As of June 1, 2007 Cable & Wireless, one of the world’s leading international telecommunications companies, announced new mobile roaming rates. Beginning this month, Cable & Wireless’ bmobile customers who travel internationally will benefit from simple, manageable international roaming rates that divide the world into five zones.
The new zonal pricing takes advantage of special arrangements made with Cable & Wireless’ extensive network of preferred roaming partners to bring bmobile customers the best value in the places they travel to most. In both the USA and the UK zones, bmobile now offers the cheapest rates to call home to the Caribbean.
The world is divided in to five zones: Intra-bmobile; non-bmobile Caribbean; US; UK; and Rest of World. For pre-paid customers there is a $0.20 surcharge per minute in any roaming destination outlined above.
Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Cable & Wireless Americas & Caribbean Ana Mollinedo-Mims said that the new pricing structure was designed to create value for customers to the destinations where they travel the most – within the Caribbean, the USA and the UK – and that the pricing was designed to help people anticipate the costs of using their phones abroad.
“This is the latest in a series of initiatives Cable & Wireless has taken to make traveling the region or the globe easy, convenient and affordable with bmobile,” said Mollinedo-Mims. Last year, Cable & Wireless and bmobile launched the first-ever capability to eTopUp possible whilst roaming across all parts of the Caribbean served by bmobile. Last month, the company introduced a partnership with Western Union, enabling bmobile customers to top-up at any Western Union location in the USA.
All pre-paid customers automatically have roaming on their account, and post-paid customers need only call customer service on 465 3003 or stop into any bmobile store to have the feature added to their account (qualifications apply.)
