Basseterre (June 13 2007) – Three hundred and eighty (380) associates of the St Kitts Marriott Resort successfully graduated the “Passport to Success” program in a grand Awards Ceremony this past Monday 12th June.
The ceremony was inclusive of a check in counter, air hostesses and pilot as the associates received their passports and embarked on their flight to “Success Island”. Minister of National Security Honorable G A Dwyer Astaphan and Human Resources Manager in the Ministry of Tourism Ms Novelette Morton, were on hand to lend their support to the associates on their flight of achievement.
The “Passport to Success” program has been developed by Marriott International in an effort to provide all associates with means of enhancing their knowledge and skills in their present job. It is also designed to assist in career development, prepare associates for future challenges, and to provide advanced opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The program is outlined in stages with the first stage or Level 1 covering the fundamentals of Hospitality and Service, emphasizing the importance of the standards and principles that comprise the heart of the Marriott culture. With this as the foundation the curriculum continues with basic understanding of the associates current position to comprehensive lessons “Level II and up” which will enable associates to master their chosen profession. ~~Adz:Right~~
After each successful level completion the associates Passport booklet will be stamped with a gold seal, and they would be presented with a Certificate of Accomplishment and a Pin. The content of the “Passport to Success” program is the result of intensive research and has been crafted with input from many leading managers and experts worldwide.
“This program is one more stop on our flight; our journey is not yet complete, however I am exceptionally proud of each and every associate who has completed this program. We will continue to soar and together as a family there is nothing that we cannot surpass,” said General Manager Jorge Landa.
