BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IN the first Final of the Final Four Competition, RAMS Village Superstars FC edged out SL Horsford St. Paul’s FC 2-1 in last night’s (June 15) matchup at the Warner Park Stadium.

With both teams seemingly equal in strength and skill, little action took place early in the first half.

In the 43rd minute however, Village broke the deadlock with a corner kick that found the head of Kayu Hendrickson.

At the end of the first half, Digicel held yet another Kick for Cash promotion in which Kareem Belle and another fan each won themselves a $200 cheque.

Going into the second half, St. Paul’s had been more energetic than Village and was rewarded for their efforts.

Not long into that period, Terrance Ward received a beautiful pass from George ‘Yellowman’ Isaac and with Village goalkeeper scampering towards him, he gently tapped it over his head and making the score 1-1.

The silent St. Paul’s fans then displayed their jubilation, but the celebrations were short-lived as Lawrence Jeffers helped Village regain the lead after picking up the loose ball and beating it home in the 75th minute.

RAMS Village Superstars FC will be looking forward to winning the series 2-0 and lift their third cup of the 2010/2011 season when the two clubs meet on Saturday night at the same venue; but who knows if St. Paul’s will spoil their party after returning to the drawing board.
