The Green Valley Festival Committee has noted an article written in ‘Ryddim’ published on June 8th 2007 where the writer purports to quote an executive member stating that money is missing amongst other allegations of wrong doing. Upon an investigation by the Committee, no executive member has indicated that they were interviewed by Ryddim or made any such statements as printed in the article.  At no time did the writers interview the Chairman or any member of the Committee to address these allegations before they were published.

~~Adz:Left~~ The Green Valley Festival Committee categorically denies these aspersions written in Ryddim and wishes to go on record as saying that at no time has any money been missing or misappropriated by any member of the committee. In fact, the members of the committee often use their personal resources, without refund, for the advancement of the Festival.   Furthermore, each year in its efforts to ensure accountability, transparency and good governance, the Committee publishes its financial accounts for the previous year’s activities.

The Green Valley Festival Committee notes that in the same publication for the week of June 8th, contrary to the front page headline, the substantive portion of the publication highlighted activities from the recently concluded 2007 festival. We therefore find the front page headline and article malicious, and designed to erode the confidence of our sponsors and the community. The GVF Committee therefore is taking the necessary legal action against Ryddim to protect the good name of the festival and its Committee members.
