BASSETERRE St. Kitts – LIME, the telecommunications giant, yesterday (June 20) handed over a grand prize to the winner of their 2011 Easter Hunt Promotion winner. The presentation took place at LIME’s Cayon Street Store.
Ellana Tuckette-Clarke was the lucky winner of the promotion and her spouse, Iroy Clarke collected the prize on her behalf. The handover was done by LIME’s Marketing Manager, Darien Belle, in the presence of Laverne Caines, the Corporate Communications Manager.
The grand prize came in the form of a Lenovo Desktop valued at over EC$2 000 along with three months free internet service valued at EC$300.
Belle, during the handover congratulated both Mr. and Mrs. Clarke, noting that many persons were excited to enter the promotion.
“This was a very sought after promotion; we had a lot of entrants. People were definitely very excited about the thought of getting a free PC ... along with the PC, they get three months of free internet service courtesy of LIME and we would definitely hope that this internet service would be put to good use,” he said.
Caines also congratulated Mr and Mrs. Clarke, stating that there were quite a few hundred submissions to the text promotion which meant that they were very lucky.
Mr. Clarke agreed that they were indeed very lucky as they only texted once.
“Actually we only texted once. It was on the last day of the promotion when we received a text from LIME asking subscribers to text PC to 9696. We did it and a couple of weeks later we found out we were the lucky winners,” he said.
The promotion started in April and for a period of 30 days, customers were encouraged to text the word PC to the number 9696. At the end of the promotion LIME then picked a winner by random draw.
Caines announced that in addition to the Easter Hunt Promotion prize, there was a consolation prize, where one of the persons who also texted for the Easter Hunt Promotion won themselves one year free internet.
