DPM Condor in Jamaica to meet with Hilary Clinton

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, June 22nd 2011 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Hon. Sam Condor is among Caribbean foreign ministers meeting with United States Secretary of State, the Hon. Hillary Clinton.

     

    Mrs. Clinton is meeting Wednesday with Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Foreign Ministers in Jamaica as regional leaders prepare for their annual summit in St. Kitts and Nevis early next month.

     

    Mrs. Clinton will use the meeting with her Caribbean counterparts to build on the June 2010 Caribbean ministerial meeting held in Barbados.

     

    “The Secretary will reaffirm the US commitment to the region, and underscore our joint partnerships in enhancing citizen and regional security; promoting clean energy and combating climate change; promoting economic development; and strengthening democratic institutions,” the State Department said.

     

    This will be Clinton second visit to Jamaica in her capacity as America’s top diplomat.
