    Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry

     

    (Charlestown, Nevis-Tuesday, 10 July 2007) Premier Parry and the Nevis Island Administration laid three bills on the table which was passed in the House of Assembly on Monday, July 9, 2007.  

     

      The bills were, THE MICRO and SMALL BUSINESS ENTERPRISE ACT, THE NEVIS CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION ORDINANCE and THE AMENITIES for TOURIST (Amendment Ordinance 2007)   

     

    The fourth Bill entitled THE NEVIS INTERNATIONAL MUTUAL FUNDS (MISCELLANEOUS AMENDMENTS) ORDINANCE, 2007 was brought to the Nevis Island Assembly on Monday, 9th July, 2007 where it had its first reading. At a subsequent sitting of The Assembly, this Bill will be debated on, at which time the Second and Third reading will take place.   

     

    During the sitting, Premier of Nevis the Hon. Joseph Parry made a motion to commemorate the day of death of the late Hon. Malcolm Guishard by the country. The Hon. Malcolm Guishard was the former Deputy Premier of Nevis under the previous Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) led Nevis Island Administration and the Leader of the Opposition in the Federal Assembly.                        ~~Adz:Right~~

     

    Deputy Premier, the Hon. Hensley Daniel 2nd the motion stating,  ” Madame President I wish to record my profound sadness of the passing of the St. John’s former representative. Madame President death troubles everyone. Death lays its icy hands on kings, death knows no colour, age, or class. Someday all of us must succumb to this grim reaper”. 

     

     Numerous persons from the private sector and public sector attended the one day exercise which was part of the first Anniversary week of activities.    There were no members of the Opposition, the Concerned Citizens Movement, present at the parliament sitting.
