Digicel presents cheque to Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant

Digicel’s Country Manager, Sean Latty, and Marketing Manager, Marsha Lindo presents sponsorship cheque to Randy Jeffers, Pageant Advisor for the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant.

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE ‘BIGGER, better network’, Digicel, handed over a cheque to the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant Committee as it comes onboard as the platinum sponsor for the upcoming pageant.

     

    The handing over of the cheque, valued at EC$10 000, was  done at the telecommunications company’s Head Office at Porte Zante by Marsha Lindo, Marketing Manager and Sean Latty, Country Manager.

     

    Receiving the cheque was Randy Jeffers, Pageant Director, in the presence of Derrick V. Fraites, Pageant Planner, Advisor and Head Judge.

     

    Lindo, during the handover congratulated the contestants, noting that Digicel anticipates seeing wonderful performances and an exposition of their culture.
     
    She stated that Digicel has been a sponsor of the Pageant for some time and has never regretted it. She stated that they were happy to be on board for another year and that they were very honoured to be a part of such a prestigious Pageant.

     

    “Randy, on behalf of Digicel, our Country Manager, Sean Latty, and the entire team here, we present to you and your committee this sponsorship cheque. We know it will be put to good use, and we anticipate seeing a wonderful production in St. Kitts and Nevis.

     

    “We know that the Pageant has been going on for many years and it is associated with quality and hard work. We want to say thank you, especially to Derrick Fraites. To the entire team, you have been doing well so far and without hesitation, Digicel is on board to offer our contribution towards this exposition of talent and culture,” she said.

     

    Accepting the cheque, Jeffers thanked Digicel for their continued support of the Pageant and assured them that they will not be disappointed.
    Digicel’s complete sponsorship package is valued at EC$20 000 which includes EC$10 000 cash, along with BlackBerry handsets for the top three contestants and a laptop for the Queen.

     

    The Pageant is set to take place on July 23rd  at Carnival Village in St. Kitts with the staging of the Ambassadorial Wear and Swimsuit Competition.

     

    Contestants will model both one-piece and two-piece swimsuits.

     

    The second leg of the pageant will take place at the Cultural Complex on July 25th. Contestants will showcase their talent, model their evening wear and take part in the on- stage interview. The announcement and crowning of the queen will also take place on this night.

     

    So far, 10 countries have been confirmed. St. Kitts will be represented by Abigail Liburd who was selected by the National Carnival Queen Committee. Nevis will be represented by Verna Grante.
