    Pastor Davidson Morton (Nevis)

The General Wesleyan Youth will be hosting its seventh quadrennial Youth Congress in the twin island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis from July 28th to August 3rd 2007.

The first Youth Congress was staged in triniadad in 1985. The Youth Congress which promises to attract close to 250 participants from Antigua, Curaco, St Vincent and the Grenadine, Grand Cayman, St Lucia, Barbados, St Kitts Nevis, Trinidad and Tobago, BVI, Guyan, Barbados and the USVI will be hosted at the newly re-opened Royal St Kitts Hotel in Frigate Bay.

Each succeeding congress is held in a different district. The venue is determined by a rotation system which ensures that each area of the Caribbean conference gets a turn at hosting the congress.

In bringing as many of our youths across the Caribbean together in the same place at the same time, it is hoped that congress will serve as a catalyst for the future direction of the youth department of the church.

    Rev  Olson David (Antigua)

It is hoped also that strong social bonds, new talents for leadership and ministry, and fresh insights will all emerge; thus enhancing the quality of our ministry, strengthening our sense of communal identity and ultimately mobilizing our youths to become even better Christian witness for the glory of God.

The Wesleyan Youth Congress is much different form a camp, in its format and its setting. Participants will be one of the first to experience the splendor that accompanies Royal St Kitts Hotel with its beautifully manicured lawns, world class cuisine and deluxe rooms.

    Rev Haynesley Griffith (Barbados)

Under the theme, “Embracing a new Season; Impacting our Generation the participants will be exposed to a number of sessions aimed at developing and transforming the spiritual, social and emotional man.

Some of these sessions includeThe Naked Truth”, “Cutting Edge Leadership”, HIV AIDS and the Church, Caught in the Crossfire, Facing your Giants and Sexplained”.

Intertwined with these powerful sessions will be cultural presentations from each participating country as well as competitions in dance, chorale speaking, solos, instrumentals and speech.

This congress promises to be the best ever, since its inception some 22 years ago in 1985. The Wesleyan Holiness

    Rev Sylvester Herbert (Nevis)
Church of the Caribbean is blessed with perhaps the most resourceful, assertive and exuberant group of young people it has ever had.

At this congress, these youths are assembling with a vision and a passion to see their church "embracing a new season, impacting our generation".  More information about Congress can be had from the Official Congress website www.wesleyancongress07.com
