Police Press Release
              The following persons were charged with offence between 24th and 26th July 2007;
     
    ·    On Tuesday 24th July 2007, Stedroy “Charlie” Scott of Upper Cayon was charged with the offence of “Indecent Exposure” committed on 21st July 2007 at Cayon, when he exposed his person in front of two (2) female juveniles.
     
    ·     On Thursday 26th July 2007, a (15) fifteen-year-old male of Upper Cayon was charged with the offence of “Wounding” committed on 25th July 2007 at Wade Street, Cayon.
     

    ·     On Thursday 26th July 2007, Campton Matthew of Molyneaux Village was charged with the offence, “Possession of Housing Breaking Implements” committed on 26th July 2007 at Frigate Bay.   ~~Adz:Right~~

     

     

     

     

     

              The following persons were convicted at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Wednesday 25th July 2007;
     
    ·      Adorington Govia of Basseterre was convicted of stealing (“Larceny”) a transformer from the Ministry of Finance Officer, Church Street on 24th July 2007. He was subsequently sentenced to serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour and also ordered to pay restitution for the transformer.
     
    ·         Leon Sutton of Freeman’s Village was charged with the offence of “Unlawful Possession” of coins to the sum total of $200.00 E.C., committed on 15th February 2007. He was subsequently fined $800.00 to be paid in three (3) months or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment.
     
     On Wednesday 25th June 2007, officers of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force carried out a three (3) hour island  wide operation. Approximately fifty (50) vehicles and seventy-five (75) persons were stopped and searched, while thirty-five (35) traffic tickets were issued for various traffic offences.
     
    Three (3) persons were also reported for offences such as “Carrying Abroad an Offensive Weapon” and “Possession of a Controlled Drug” to wit cannabis.
     
    The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force would like to take this opportunity to re-assure the public of its continuing commitment to enforce all of the laws of the Federation without fear or favor. We will also continue to listen to your concerns and seek to address them within the letter of the law and as far as practically possible.
