(Basseterre; St. Kitts): The Federation’s Seabridge ferry service officially began its trip on Friday, July, 27, traveling from Cades Bay, Nevis and arriving at Friars Bay, St. Kitts in about 14 minutes.

The Seabridge which is operating just in time for the Culturama season carried a total of five vehicles onboard along with ten passengers that day.

The Chairman of the Seabridge St. Kitts-Nevis Incorporated, Rawlinson Isaac was also present on the first trip.

In a previous interview with SKNVibes, said that the Seabridge came out of the desire to improve the transportation link between St. Kitts and Nevis via The Narrows.

He noted that the Seabridge transportation service is an alternative to the fixed-link bridge and the core service would be the transportation of vehicles at an affordable cost while covering the 3.6 mile distance in about 15 minutes.     ~~Adz:Right~~
The service is expected to improve the labour mobility between the islands including tour expansion for cruise ship visitors, greater support for significant events in St. Kitts and Nevis such as Music Festivals, Carnivals and Culturarama; tertiary education and educational lectures.
The Seabridge will run every day on the hour and may start its daily trips as early as 7 a.m.
