Cable and Wireless, the leading telecommunications company in St. Kitts and Nevis, paid tribute to its customers with a plush appreciation ceremony, at the Fisherman’s Wharf, on Saturday night, July 27th.

The telecommunications giant went above and beyond to underscore the importance of its customer base and showed that it is not a company based on just profits but also on providing the very best products and services to its patrons.

The evening was celebrated in a tropical atmosphere, which was second to none, and the floral chains strung around the necks of the approximately four hundred persons in attendance was indicative of the immaculate nature of the event and the energy used to plan such an occasion.

    The Okolo Dancers

The beating of the drums and gripping dance of the Okolo Tegremantine Dance Theatre and the prancing of Williams’ Masquerade transformed the atmosphere into a cultural melting pot and set the tone for the night.
Besides being bedazzled by the splendor of the occasion, patrons were also spoilt with the huge array of delicacies that were made available at the many food and drinks stalls which were strategically placed all about the property.

In keeping with the aim of giving back to their customers, there were several competitions, including comedy, hula hoop, dance, music and limbo.

One of the most popular events on the night was a treasure hunt. Cable and Wireless employees provided clues to patrons and many were seen up and about looking for the prizes which were 20 Motorola PEBLs.
Other prizes that were given away included a suite for two nights at the St. Kitts Marriott, a day at the Marriott emerald Mist Spa, gift certificates from Ashbury’s and Steppin, Xnet Internet for one year, Hewlett Packard Lap top, Motorola ROKRs and Motorola RIRZs.
In summary, there were plenty of prizes to be won and the patrons thoroughly enjoyed themselves. According to Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Patricia Walters, the customers are who have made the company successful and it is imperative that Cable and Wireless show how much it values its customers.
Chairwoman for the night’s affair, Mrs. Laverne Caines, who is also the Vice President of Corporate Communications, expressed similar sentiments.
The reviews for the evening were plentiful and glowing as those in attendance were left in awe at the spectacular arrangement of the cocktail party.
Rosecita Jeffers, of Island by Design, was responsible for the planning of the event. Her genius was commended by all.

The whole night could be fittingly dubbed in one phrase, “It feels good,”- the tag line for the Bmobile.

Cable and Wireless has been branded as a model corporate citizen by many. The company prides itself in always giving back to its customers, especially its post and prepaid cellular phones users, with various initiatives. Among the most popular of these activities are the double bubble and free text messaging initiatives.
