Police Press Release
    Police are investigating a breaking which took place at the Sandy Point branch of The St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank during the early morning hours of Monday 30th July 2007.
     
    Police responded to a report of smoke coming from inside of the Bank and upon gaining access discovered that it had been burglarized.
     
    Nothing was reported missing from within the Bank and investigations are ongoing.    ~~Adz:Right~~
     
    Any person(s) with information relevant to this investigation is urged to contact the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261 or the Criminal Investigations Department at 465-2241 Ext 236 / 230.

     
    On Monday 30th July 2007, Sandra Liddie of Pump Bay, Sandy Point was charged with the offence of “Embezzlement”.
     
     
    On Monday 30th July 2007 at the Basseterre Magistrate Court the following persons were convicted of their charges;
    ·         Kwesi Twells of Manchester Avenue was convicted of the offences of “Possession of a Firearm” and ”Possession of Ammunition” committed on 30th June 2007 at The Bay Road, Basseterre. He was subsequently sentenced to serve nine (9) months imprisonment on each charge with sentences to run concurrently.
     
    ·         Darnel Webster of Sandown Road was convicted of the offences of “Malicious Damage”, “Throwing Missiles”, “Battery” and “Making use of Threatening Language” committed on 17th August 2006. He was subsequently cautioned and ordered to pay compensation in the sum of $500.00 in nine (9) months or in default to serve one (1) month imprisonment with hard labour; cautioned and ordered to pay compensation in the sum of $1,000.00 in nine (9) months or in default to serve three (3) months imprisonment with hard labour and cautioned with respect to each charge.
     
    ·         A sixteen-year-old male of the Basseterre area was convicted and sentenced to receive ten (10) strokes for the offence of “Larceny” committed on 18th July 2007.
