LIME Acknowledges Fathers in Father’s Day Promotion; Presents prize to Lucky Winner

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, 2 July, 2011 - Mother’s Day in the Caribbean can be compared to the season of Christmas.  There is usually a lot of commercial bustle weeks before that second Sunday in May. Cluttered sidewalks in and around town display varied assortments of gift items and postcards, and there’s an air of anticipation akin to Christmas. 

     

    Perhaps it is this observation that has caused many men to bemoan the fact that Father’s Day pale in comparison with Mother’s Day.  So this year LIME decided to create its own excitement for the fathers of St. Kitts & Nevis and recognise a lucky father with a $1000 gift voucher.

     

    Customers of the full service telecommunications provider qualified for winning by simply texting the word Dad to its text platform.  There were no restrictions on the number of times a customer sent a text, neither were females excluded.  In fact Marketing Manager Darien Belle in explaining the promotion suggested that even if a female customer won, the gift could be presented to a male figure as a post Father’s Day gift. “We have heard the many concerns about businesses not tailoring any promotion to Father’s Day and this year wanted to change that perception,” reported the Marketing Manager. 

     

    With Father’s Day celebrated on the third Sunday in June and hundreds of text submissions, only one winner could emerge from the contest.  Mr Alden Armony, was that very lucky customer who informed that he is a frequent participant in LIME’s text promotions but has never won.  “I submitted two texts to the promotion and was pleasantly surprised when I received the call about winning,” said the lucky dad.  “Unfortunately my father has died so I will redeem this voucher as my Father’s Day gift to myself,” said the soft spoken winner.

     

    At a short presentation ceremony in LIME’s flagship store on June 29, Marketing Manager, Darien Belle, presented Mr Armony with his $1000 voucher and congratulated him for winning. Although still undecided as to what he would purchase, he has the option to redeem the voucher for home goods or automotive supplies.
