Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry, Speaking at
Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church in New York

(Charlestown, Nevis-Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Joseph Parry along with Junior Minister, Hon. Carlisle Powell and Advisor to the Premier, Mr. Llewellyn Parris visited the Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church in Bronx, New York on Sunday, August 12, 2007.

The Elder, Mr. Moulton Esdaille expressed his deepest sympathy at the recent passing of Mrs. Rosalie Andre, a former teacher and headmistress in Nevis.

“Mrs. Andre was an outstanding woman in Nevis and she inspired many people.” Elder Esdaille then asked the congregation to join him in a moment of silence in honour of Mrs. Andre. He then introduced Premier Joseph Parry to join him on the altar. ~~Adz:Right~~

“I bring you greetings and best wishes from Nevis. I am so happy to be here at Mount Carmel Pentecostal Church to meet so many Nevisians here in New York, some I have not seen in many years.”

Premier Parry talked about the young people in Nevis and highlighted the recent activities of the gangs and young men in Nevis. “Young girls are by far outshining young men in school. It is sad to see how gang activity is out of hand on the island. We in Nevis are having problems with our young men and I am sure you have the same problem with young men here too.”

A joyous choir sang and Premier Parry clapped and tapped his feet as he participated in song.
