The deceased man Keithroy "I-keith" Morton with young son

Officers from the Traffic Department of the Police Force are currently investigating a horrific traffic accident, in Verchild’s, that has left one young man dead and three others seriously injured. The dead man is Keithroy “I-keith” Morton, while the injured three are Kudzi Mills, Denzil “Para” Williams and Kimo Flemming. Mills is said to be in a coma.

According to reliable sources, the accident occurred around 3:30 on Sunday morning, as the young men were returning from the popular night spot, Lantern.

It has been reported that they were heading toward Basseterre, when the car they were in, a Daihatsu Charade commonly called “small box car” collided with a pick-up that was parked on the side of the road.

Kudzi Mills was the alleged driver of the vehicle.

Owing to the speed at which the Charade was travelling, it is alleged that it flipped over after impact and the four young men were “properly mashed up”, according to eyewitnesses.

The “Jaws of Life” had to be utilized to free some of the young men from the mangled wreck.

The deceased young man was pronounced dead on arrival at the Joseph N. France General Hospital, shortly before dawn.

There have been many reports circulating since the fatal accident. One such report states that the young men were “high” and drunk, hence it was difficult to administer certain medications.

Witnesses also say that it is a miracle that the other young men are still alive. Blood was strewn all about the area of the wreck and prior to the arrival of the EMS, the young men were lying helplessly on the ground.

As they continue their investigations, the Traffic Department is appealing to motorists to exercise due care and attention while driving.
