~~Adz:Left~~ On August 25 2007 at approximately 5:15 pm, members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) supported by members of the St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) raided a number of abandoned buildings on Forth Thomas Road, Irish Town and recovered a substantial quantity of illegal drugs and stolen goods.
The success of this operation was a direct result of information provided to the Police by the SKNDF Intelligence Section relating to a recent burglary incident in Basseterre. Acting on the intelligence provided by the Defence Force, the police was able to recover a large quantity of brand name men and women clothing, children wear and other fashionable items from the criminal’s hideout. Also found was a replica .45 pistol, a substantial quantity of marijuana, knifes and scissors. A young man of Haynes Smith Village who was found in one of the houses was taken into police custody for questioning.
The St Kitts Nevis Defence Force urges the public to be vigilant and immediately report any unusual loitering and such activities in their neighbourhood to the security forces. The security forces are here to ensure the safety and security of life and property of everyone in the society and continue to seek the public’s support and cooperation in the effort to suppress criminal activities.
